Equipment

  • 1 baking dish (9x13 inches)
  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 measuring spoons
  • 1 whisk or fork
  • 1 aluminum foil (optional)
  • 1 meat thermometer

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces chicken thighs (bone-in, skin-on) About 1.5 lbs total.
  • 4 cloves garlic Minced.
  • ¼ cup brown sugar Packed.
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley Optional, for garnish.

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the minced garlic, brown sugar, soy sauce, olive oil, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Whisk together until well blended.
  • Place the chicken thighs in the baking dish skin-side up. Pour the garlic brown sugar mixture over the chicken, making sure to coat each piece evenly.
  • If desired, cover the baking dish with aluminum foil to prevent over-browning. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  • After 25 minutes, remove the foil (if used) and continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). The skin should be golden brown and caramelized.
  • Once done, remove the baking dish from the oven. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired, and serve with your choice of sides.

You can substitute chicken breast for thighs, but cooking times might vary; make sure to check for doneness.
Pair the dish with rice or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
