Equipment

  • 1 air fryer
  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 grill spatula
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 pieces hamburger buns
  • as desired toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, etc.)

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 360°F (182°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined but do not overwork the mixture.
  • Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, making sure to create a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
  • Place the patties in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
  • Cook the burgers in the air fryer for about 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until they reach your desired doneness (an internal temperature of 160°F for medium).
  • If you are adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last 2 minutes of cooking.
  • While the burgers are cooking, you can toast the buns in the air fryer if desired, for about 2-3 minutes.
  • Once cooked, remove the patties from the air fryer and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
  • Assemble the burgers by placing the patties on the buns and adding your favorite toppings.
