These homemade Healthy Twix Bars are made with just six simple ingredients, featuring a buttery almond flour shortbread, creamy peanut butter caramel, and a rich dark chocolate topping. They’re gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free, and naturally sweetened, making them a better-for-you sweet treat!

  • 1 Small saucepan

Ingredients
  

Shortbread layer

  • 2 cups Almond flour
  • ¼ cup Coconut oil melted
  • ¼ cup Maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Caramel layer

  • ¾ cup Creamy peanut butter unsweetened
  • ¼ cup Coconut oil
  • ¼ cup Maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Chocolate layer

  • 1 cup Chocolate chips dark chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon Coconut oil
  • Flaky sea salt optional, for topping

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Add all shortbread ingredients to a large bowl and mix to combine. Press the crust into an even layer in the prepared pan.
  • Bake for 10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden brown. Cool for at least 10 minutes before adding the caramel.
  • To make the caramel, add caramel ingredients to a saucepan over medium-low heat and whisk until smooth and bubbling.
  • Remove from heat and pour over cooled shortbread. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes until set.
  • Melt chocolate chips and coconut oil together and pour over the caramel layer. Spread evenly.
  • Refrigerate again for at least 30 minutes until chocolate hardens. Slice and optionally sprinkle flaky sea salt on top.

Notes

Store in fridge for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months. Let thaw at room temp or microwave for a softer texture before serving.
